Financial & Project News

February 2008
Income has continued to flow in steadily with almost £900 this month. The biggest cheque was from the Inland Revenue, £497, which was our Gift Aid claim from 2007 donations. One of the most heartwarming was £50 from a local old folks home coffee morning. They are planning a jumble sale for us in the summer.
Most fundraising activity is currently from our four Everest Trekkers and three Bath Half Marathon runners. Some of them have an on-line donations page at Just Giving
If anyone else wants to create a personal page for some on-line fundraising please go ahead on our page at Just Giving.
We now have firm expenditure plans for the year for our five schools in the core programme which we have well covered financially as follows:
  1. Exercise books £1145
  2. Textbooks £580
  3. School bags £207
  4. Teacher salaries £339 (Two probationary teachers for 6 months)
  5. TOTAL £2271
Money will be transferred to Nepal in March and will cover exercise books to April 2009 as we have one term's supply in hand, textbooks and school bags to April 2009 also, and the school teacher's salaries to October this year. A further amount will be transferred at that time all being well.
If anyone has any queries or would like to donate please email us at info@nepalschoolsaid.co.uk
As with all small charities, sustainability of income is our primary goal.
