If there's one thing you can be certain of in Nepal it's the timing of and participation in a wide variety of religious and and cultural festivals. This week saw one such festival marked by a performance of Lakhe dances in front ofthe Hanuman Dhoka palace in Durbar Square, Kathmandu watched by a large crowd of tourists and locals. And what was this colourful event celebrating? No idea! But it looked good, everyone enjoyed it and forgot their troubles for a while. That makes it all worthwhile.
