Tutors rise to the challenge, will YOU?

DSCN1334 The adventure begins for our three newly appointed Nepali Tutors, three young people with potential who deserve a chance to rise above the daily teaching of children in their respective schools. Babita (pictured) and Bashu are from Bal Bigyan school in Patan. Krishna is from Bal Kalyan school in Balaju. All are keen to learn, to improve, to develop what they do in the classroom.
Having received the full training from our UK teachers a couple of weeks ago they were issued with the challenge of repeating the workshop over a day from a dozen or so teachers from their respective schools who don't speak English.DSCN1330 Saturday, they rose to that challenge and spent a day on child centred learning in a classroom at Bal Bigyan school. Their enthusiasm and courage in giving it a go were most humbling and if we could find another hundred or so like them we could transform teaching styles in the Kathmandu valley. Now there's a thought, anybody got the funding, because we CAN do it!!!!

Hi from "Lakeland"... yes mum's favourite tupperware shop! Got onto the free internet access. Bought a timer gadget, nothing decent for mum! Been on a nice off trail bike route on the edge of Windermere - good stuff! Tried to call you at Uncle's earlier today, but you were already out.

Sounds like you're still working hard, glad to hear our three teachers rose to the challenge. It bodes well for the future.

Hope you are seriously considering diverting and delaying your route home with the flight crisis in the UK. Why not try other destinations for a short luxury holiday... we suggest, Dubai, Shanghai, Cape Town, Sydney... or a slow luxury cruise home. You deserve it after all the hard work. Be spontaneous just do it (mum - don't argue!)

Talk to you both soon
Shazzy & Michael
