A short report in today's Himalayan Times has almost sent us into orbit with its muddle headed pathetic thinking, which is just plain WRONG. Read it for yourselves and judge whether this man has ever been anywhere near a school in the last decade and how he concludes that embracing new technology and digital methods is the way forward. It's like building a roof of a house before the foundations and walls have been built! How about improving teaching standards first, how about some simple training in child centred learning for existing teachers, how about getting teachers to discover and use basic resources readily available first ...... ??? What planet is he on!!!

All the electronic wizardry on the planet will not make up for poor teaching standards. Teachers need to know their subject and how to deliver it in such as way to keep the child interested, enthusiastic and hungry for more knowledge Where is all the money coming from to fund all this gadgetry when they can't find the funds to properly train and develop their teachers?
Bemused!!

Just an after thought following my previous comment, don't you need to have a relaible infrastructure in place with good internet connections for this sort of thing? Exams on line are easier to cheat. Also, do you not need a regular and reliable pwer supply for this sort of thing. They would be better concentrating on the basics of their education system first.
